Title: Where’s The Fire?
Medium: Ink on paper
Size: 15 1/8 in. x 19 ¾ in.
Description/Context: A stand alone editorial cartoon showing a fireman (the United States) rushing a bucket of water (Latin American aid) to Latin and South America while Fidel Castro (the Red threat) blankly inquires ‘where’s the fire?’ The United States through its Alliance for Progress program tried to fund growth and modernization of South American countries as a means of keeping them democratic despite increasing pressure by Castro on Latin American and South American countries to adopt communism.
