Title: | Let’s Fill the Blanks—Now! |
Medium: | Ink and graphite on paper |
Size: | 10 ¼ in. x 16 1/8 in. |
Description/Context: | Accompanying the editorial ‘History’ noting the upcoming Gulf Coast History and Humanities Conference and lauding the comprehensive West Florida research collection built by Library Director James Servies at the University of West Florida Library. Cartoon is a reuse of an earlier printing; it features a man looking at a large “History of Pensacola’ book. The original cartoon saluted Earle Newton, head of the Historic Pensacola Preservation Board; his name appears on the little figure. For this use, a pasted-over ‘Gulf Coast Conference’ was used for publication, but this paste-on has been lost due to age and deterioration of the glue. |
