Description/Context: A stand-alone editorial cartoon features Fidel Castro perched on the Florida isthmus, exclaiming his loneliness as the last boat left while the State of Florida balances on the shoulders of Governor Lawton Chiles. Point of reference of the cartoon is the Castro announcement in August 1994 that anyone who wants to leave Florida, can leave, sparking an exodus of 30,000 immigrants into Florida arriving by boat and raft.
