Description/Context: A stand alone editorial cartoon featuring President Lyndon Baines Johnson in a foxhole while the bomb of ‘domestic problems’ explodes nearby. Johnson is talking into the phone saying ‘Baker Charlie, This is Texas Bird. Send Up Another Batch of Fountain Pens.’ President Johnson was known for using fountain pens as public relations souvenirs; he signed the 1964 Civil Rights bill using 72 fountain pens.
