Resident Birthplaces in 1920

Continuing on with trends set out in previous decades, the 1920 Census shows that a majority of residents of Belmont-DeVilliers were born in the South, specifically Florida and Alabama. Compared to 1910, there is greater dispersion among Southern borderland states and more people from the North. Additionally, Florida born residents see a sharp increase and Alabama born residents dip slightly. Though not depicted on the map, ten people originated from foreign countries, such as Nova Scotia, Canada, England, Greece, and Norway.  The two states Florida borders (Alabama and Georgia) supply the majority of non-native residents. However, with eighty-two residents reporting their place of birth, the remaining states contribute less than twenty percent of the total population of the Belmont-DeVilliers neighborhood.
