Did you change your spring break plans because of the virus? From what to what?
No – don’t usually take spring break
How did you feel when you were informed the remainder of the semester would be held online?
Glad for the students
How has the virus (and the precautions taken to prevent it spreading) impacted your daily life?
My life has totally changed from commuting to and from work, going out, activities, gym, social occasions, church to basically staying at home with my husband and working from home. We order online and pick up groceries curbside.
How worried are you about getting the virus?
At first, yes as we were in Chicago for a work conference the second week in March when things started ramping up.
Do you know anyone who has gotten COVID-19?
Yes.
Are you staying in? What are you doing to pass the time?
Yes. My husband and I are both working from home. We are watching lots of Netflix / Hulu etc. I’m reading lots of books. Doing online gym / exercise classes Spending time outside in the garden and by the pool. Catching up with friends and family online and on phone. Video chats.
Are you going out? Where do you go and what is it like?
The only time we leave the house is to go for a 1/2 hour walk in the afternoon after work in our neighborhood. It’s nice to get out for some fresh air and exercise.
What is giving you hope and/or strength right now?
That this will pass. Hopefully will reset people’s lives to be a little less hectic and busy all the time.
Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about what you’re feeling or experiencing right now?
I can’t imagine the pain that those who have lost loved ones are going through.
