In 1900, most of the residents of the Blocks were born in the United States. 50 per cent of those born in the United States were from Florida. The second highest rate of domestic births came from Alabama with 40 per cent. The other domestic births were from states along the east coast.
Around 5 per cent of the population living in the Blocks were foreign-born. Two came from Greece, one from Ireland, three from the Bahamas, one from Scotland, and two from Sweden.
